Angkor Wat is the largest monument of the Angkor group and is one of the most magnificent monuments in the world. It was built in the first half of the 12th century (approximately 1113-1150) by King Suryavarman II. Angkor Wat was designed as a Hindu temple (dedicated to Vishnu).
